Akbar Sheikh, a graduate from the University of Warwick, began his professional career at KPMG Advisory, working within the Transactions and Restructuring division. Akbar has recently joined the family office in order to realise his ambitions as a young entrepreneur as well as oversee charitable activities for the family foundation going forward.
Since joining Sheikh Holdings in early 2011, Akbar has played an instrumental role in formalising a real estate division and now sits on the board as the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Investor for the family. Akbar works together with a team of highly experienced professionals within the property field, to actively acquire, trade and develop both commercial and residential
assets in the UK. Currently he is overseeing a portfolio with a development value in excess of £125 million. Akbar is also the Managing Director for a newly formed serviced office business, which was a response to the challenging conditions faced within the commercial property sector.
As a Trustee to the Cosaraf Charitable Foundation, Akbar is continuously shaping the direction for future projects, ensuring they remain sustainable, transparent and most importantly make a real impact on the ground. Akbar recently joined the international leadership team responsible for delivering credible projects for and behalf of the Pakistan Recovery Fund; an initiative set up by HRH the Prince of Wales.
